This Isn't Your Father's Pinhole Camera
I can remember as a kid
in the 7th grade making my first pinhole camera in
Mr Wolf’s photography class. I can tell you it
looked nothing like this one. Instead,
early in my pinhole camera’s life, it dutifully
held oatmeal. Fast forward a bunch of years and
cameras have sure come a long way. Film is almost a
thing of the past. My kids don’t even know what
film is, let alone what the Ilford Multigrade
Variable Contrast Fiber photographic paper used in
my oatmeal pinhole camera twenty something years
ago. But it is really cool to see someone taking
the time to make some cool pinhole cameras.
The folks at Corbis
(the stockphotography gurus) and Readymech
(who make cool origami-like toys) have teamed up
to put together several designs, including
detailed assembly instructions. Check out some
of these cameras.
